The Youth's Thoughts on Abuse In Relationships Regarding The Chris Brown Rhianna Case

I took a few surveys from the youth around america over the internet about what they're thoughts on abusive relationships. Here are the results
once a hitter always a hitter
It happens all the time, why should they be so important?

Chris Brown shouldn't have done that to Rhianna, and she should not take him back. And, they should not get special
treatment for being celebrities.

boring

She deserved

and despite thinking this I don't support violence against women

I'm thinking someone's diva side got the best of him and beat up his girlfriend

I don't know all the details.
So I'm not going to judge.

But if Rhianna was injured by Chris brown, then he probably has a good reason for it OR he just went out of control. Either way, I don't know, so I really can't say much

Well... I'm really getting tired of hearing about it...
this happens all the time and I'm really sure why people are making such a huge deal of it, I guess cause theyre famous... but if he really did grow up in a family where abuse happened often then that could led this to happen but I just think that it must have been something Rihanna did or said to make him react that way...
but thats just me...

chris brown shouldnt have beat her up that bad, i mean even if she slapped the phone away from his face he could've just grabbed her arms or somethin....but no one but chris knows what was inside his head so...
Anyways this is very interesting about what the community thinks about this.

Chris Brown abusing Rhianna The Youth's Response

Please forgive me if this post is badly written i had no sleep and have gotten sick and can barely think straight. But a school project has to be done.
Many teens have responded to this issue in an alarming way consider this... Many high school girls beleive that rhianna brought the beating on herself! Many highschool teens think that abuse is part of a relationship. A teen in the audience of the tyra banks show said "no i dont think its right what he did to her but i think in a way she brought it on herself" Tyra banks said if you go back with a man who hits you the you dont think you deserve one that doesent"
This is very alarming that many teens believe this. It shows how warped our youth's idea's on relationships and dating are. I beleive that teens need to be taught that an abusive relationship is not a relationship that they should stay in. I also beleive that no woman deserves to be abused in any way at all and if someone abuses you they can't truly love you. Oprah saud that if a man hit's you once then he will do it again. Once again sorry for my terrible post i am so tired.

Obama's Healthcare Plan

On March 5th Obama stated that fixing the healthcare system was a very important goal and was needed for economic reasons. He said that no longer will americans stand for the outrageous prices of healthcare.  Obama said that we cannot stand for a stalemate because it threatens our economy. Obama also stated that "those who seek to block reform at all will not prevail this time around" basically meaning that nothing is going to stop him from fixing the healthcare system. Obama said that the question is not whether all americans should have quality heathcare that's affordable, but how? Debates between lawmakers and advocacy groups have been held about whether or not to create a medi-care like healthcare sytem for people under 65. Mitch McConnell, the top Republican in the Senate, sent a letter to Obama signed by several other Republicans, including Senator Judd Gregg of New Hampshire, saying that they would not go through with such a plan, which private insurers see as a potentially fatal blow to their industry, because it would "create an unlevel playing field and ultimately doom true competition." (boston herald)  During a confrence  a group of liberals stated that it's no wonder that republicans don't want a plan that would threaten profits. In his budget last week, Obama set aside $634 billion over 10 years for healthcare, what he called a down payment on an overhaul that many analysts estimate will cost more than $1 trillion. The healthcare system now costs about $2.5 trillion a year, and is on track to consume one-fifth of the economy by 2018.(boston herald)

I am Not sure what kind of healthcare plan would be best for america right now. I do agree however that a medicare like plan would unbalance the economy but then again noone has money for health insurance today. Honestly anything we do to make healthcare more affordable will threaten big companies. But we can't continue to go on without Americans getting the health care they need so something has to be done. One idea would be to incorporate it into you taxes (note this is my personal idea and has nothing to do with any politicians) and then medical centers become just like police station fire stations and other emergency services there when you need them and paid for by the taxes. But this system would probably only cover services then you could recieve medication assistance from a private insurance company or it could also become part of the taxes. I don't know the best solution but i hope that the Obama administration comes up with a real good one.

Obama Plans To Make Internet More Available To American's

In December of 08 Obama announced that he had plans to build up the internet's infrastructure as part of his stimulus package. Obama's main goal is to provide affordable high speed internet access to everyone including rural areas. Putting up broadband lines in areas where there isn't will employ millions of people and allow millions of people who had slow or no internet to join the fast growing digital world of information and communications. During a speech made in december Obama stated *that he intends to ensure that every child has a chance to get online and that he would use some of the stimulus money to connect libraries and schools. It is a critical goal. Children trapped on the wrong side of the digital divide are deprived of a fair chance to educate themselves and to compete for high-skill, high-paying jobs. *according to (http://www.iht.com/articles/2008/12/17/opinion/edinternets.php)  Obama is also a strong supporter of net neutrality .
I will continue to follow and discuss this story as it unfolds so check back soon for more information.

Obama's Troop Pullout From Iraq

The Story

On August 2010 obama plans to withdraw from Iraq most all troops. But he plans to leave tens of thousands of troops in to protect and advise Iraqi forces and U.S. interests. Around 30 to 40 thousand troops will remain  in iraq. Over the course of 18 months he will pull out around 100,000 troops. By 2011 he will withdraw all American forces for Iraq which as an agreement made with U.S. and Iraq when Bush was in office.

My Thoughts

I beileve that it is a good thing to withdraw slowly from Iraq because we need to finish what we started and it would be a poor desicsion and an unfair one to Iraq to just leave in the middle of a project.  I believe that Iraq currently needs American support to uphold and complete our goals of making Iraq a free nation. I believe that they also need guidance in how to properly run a "democracy" successfuly and just leaving would cause more problems than before considering Iraq has been under a dictatorship for quite some time. I Beleive that Obama's goal for withdrawing is a well thought idea on withdrawing from Iraq and will show promising results.
